whirlwind

It has been a whirlwind around here since Ben's birthday.  After catching a nasty stomache bug, trying to get my room set up BEFORE school started, and now trying to get back into the swing of things with school starting and new curriculum....... any chance of a freak snowstorm in September? or maybe some fog, that would help out! We also found out in the beginning of what is going to look to be many allergy appointments.. That I am 100% NOT allergic to bees!  WhooHoo!  It is like a weight that I have been carrying for the last 10+ years? has been lifted. AFter being stung back in high school, we assumed that I was allergic and have had the epipen since.  In 2007? I had testing done to see if I indeed was or not and was told that I was deathly allergic.  SO that added onto the already present worrying about being stung....  I very hesitantly agreed to skin testing (the last office refused to do skin testing for bees)  and the results were negative across the board.  I expressed my concern--why would the blood test be so postiive and the skin not?   So looking back into my file the last allergist told me taht I was deathly allergic and he wanted me to start bee shots (thank God I didn't)  The new office looked back in my file and told me that the blood work results were NEGATIVE.   Makes me totally question Ben's allergies, but that we won't know until March....  SO the weight of worrying about being stung and dying everytime the bees were around.... is now GONE and I love it.   In addition to all of that I THINK (*knock on wood* )  that we are full swing into potty training (again)   Ben has been asking to use potty, going on his own, wearing big boy underwear.... he's getting there.  maybe by Thanksgiving we will be able to say we are thankful to be done with diapers/pullups etc....??? Not too much going on here besides that.  Just trying to get caught up on the house, and staying on top of school this year so I don't get too far behind....  Tim has been coaching football and that is making for a long Fall... but he enjoys it and I get some Ben and Mommy time.  

Summer...where are you going???

SO  after Ben's birthday things got crazy!  Had to get him packed, Tim and I packed... then a vacay for all of us.. Though Ben's was only to Mom-Mom and Pop-Pops.... Ours was a bit farther away .    Ben loved his dinosaur cake, though I think he loved his Mom-Mom's more....  We had crabs, and Ben and I got to share a little bonding time over a crab when no one else was home... it was nice.    Then we had a little "party" for him complete with family, cake, ice cream, and a few friends that dropped in.   He made out like a bandit with Thomas things, books and more!  Good thing we cleaned that bedroom out a bit before his birthday!  Tim and I went on Vacation to Cancun and got to experience a few of the same things we did when we went 7 yrs ago on our honeymoon. Luckily we made it home before Tropical Storm Ernesto was supposed to hit!   We have been allowed back into our classrooms, so I have been spending too much time there.  I need to get the room done which was a wreck because of everyone switching, everything ended up being just thrown in and now we have to sort through.  I then found a cabinet that had been lived in by some mice all summer so THAT was fun to clean out.  hoping that next year I can just come in and put posters up and be ready!   So much left to do, but very thankful we were allowed in early!   Probably wont visit the blog anytime soon... running out of time to get things done around here we wanted to and summer is almost gone. 

WOW! Time Flies?

Looking at the last post with pictures I wonder where the time went.   Since then, we have moved, gotten new jobs, lost a cat, gained a cat, and now Ben is turning 3.  3? Wait that can't be...... yup I guess it is...  He has come so far in that time!   He loves Thomas the train and dinosaurs.  Right now we are going through the oh so dreaded potty training. He can totally do it! He can pee and even poo on the potty... when he wants.  Most of the time he flat out REFUSES.  Kicking, Screaming, biting hitting anything ot not sit on the potty... Then as soon as he is off he grins and pees in his big boy pants.   SIGH.  Stubborn little kid!  The summer is coming to a close and we are sad to see it, but I am thrilled to be starting my 3rd year teaching first grade.  After this year.. Tenure! Whoo hoo!  I can't wait...though  I am not ready to go back to school, which I need to do starting like two years ago.  Tim is in the process of finishing up his masters after a few glitches last minute. When he is done, my turn!    Hopefully I can keep up on the blog a little better. maybe once a month?  we shall see.  I will try to post again after Ben's birthday party tomorrow since he is turning 3 and I can't wait to see his face when he sees the one thing he's been asking for  the last 3 months when we have asked him what he wants for his birthday... The convo every time goes like this: "Ben what do you want for your birthday?"  (Ben) " A cake"  (Mommy) "What kind of cake?" (Ben) "A Tyrannosaurus Rex cake!" (Mommy) "What color?" (Ben) "Green". Matter of fact every time.  SO hopefully he is pleasantly surprised tomorrow! He's getting a party with family and a few friends tomorrow and then Sunday, on his actual birthday we are going to go up to Mom-Moms and see the family up there.  So all presents etc will be done with the cake and ice cream tomorrow.  Fun times!= def going to be tired mommy........  If I can remember how since it has been so long, Ill update the photo on the side so it's not Ben as a baby!
